snowy owls

Happy New Year everyone!
This morning we headed out to Boundary Bay in Delta. There is a large flock of snowy owls down from the Arctic this year. Every 4-6 years they travel this far South or farther as the lemming population in the North ebbs and flows. We got to see several a mere 50 feet away from the path. They were many more out near the water. Such a wonderful, rare sight!

  1. What a wonderful thing to do on New Years Day. Looks like it was fun, and great owl sightings.
