We netted a whole 6 ears, I think. Not bad, but with soil improvements, we should do much better next year. The kids were super excited regardless.

Zinger beetles

I believe these creatures were zinger beetles. They were very fast and we are lucky to have captured a few photos to share.

Comparing the flowers to the size of our heads...

toadlets

Toadlets were migrating from a local lake down the road. We drove over to see them and found a few at first.

Then we saw more! These black dots were all toadlets migrating from the lake to the surrounding woods. This part of the route was clearly more dangerous.

Beaver was concerned about them and tried to help a few cross the road.
